It is 22:00 pm and I will be sleeping soon. I’m oncall tomorrow hence the need for energy conservation. Initially the eve plan today was to get drive-thru Ayam Goreng McD… watch a re-run episode of ‘how I met Your Mother’ while having dinner… take a long hot shower… continue to read this killer self-help book I gotten myself as a New Year’s gift until 10:00pm… prepare for slumber… sleep. Initially that is. Thing is the town is rather empty as whoever that is not on-call has scurried home / somewhere else to countdown to the New Year. And if I was alone to fend for myself this would have been how I got through the 2008-2009 transition in TI.
I said would-have-been. As Seng is on-call tomorrow too so we decided to have an eve dinner together. And so we did. We even got a little frisky and had us a bottle of Heine each *giggle*
So here I am staring at my new 2009 black Moleskine feeling just a little bit heavy-heart to say goodbye to my old 2008 one. That little red book holds my entire year worth of thoughts, plans and even my favourite msgs (yes, I’m one of those sad pathetics who actually writes down her favourite sms-es on paper!). Despite that, the word new does have a nice ring to it. New is almost always good. It’s nice to have new stuff no matter how comfortable the old goods make you feel, non?
I’m going through one of those bizarre new year sentiments… I get it every 31st December. It’s not reflection or anticipation… it’s almost like the word numb. It would be lovely to one day have a regular countdown (like the rest of the world) in a party with close friends for company, of headcount 10 and above, while clinking glasses / sipping bubbly as we kiss our boyfriends, holding our party hats so as to make sure it doesn’t fall. So far my New Years have been far from regular. But hey maybe 2009 will be better than the last. Maybe I’ll get my ‘regular’ New Year next year.
And maybe this year will be better than the last…
Merry 2009 y’all! How did your new year go?

I wasn't looking for this
What is this
I don't know
You know I was doing just fine
By myself
On my own
Tell me how to stop this feeling
I don't want to fall in love
Just want to have a little fun...
.

busy xmas-ing
How's everyone's hohoho-s tis merry year?? I'm super duper cruper sorry I have not been updating..
"maybe I'm just a bad girl
maybe I'm just a bad girl
maybe I'm just a bad girl
maybe I'm just a bad girl, bad girl..."
... Bad Girl, Danity Kane ...
That and I've been having quite abit on my plate too. Work's been heavy, calls bad and social diary jam-packed like crushed potatoes in a karipap. Need to tell y'all so much. Will soon.
In the meantime I'm gonna have me a good end to the year 'cos I'm oncall New Year's Day which ultimately means countdown in you-know-where *mata terbeliak*!!

bon yumyum: fong lye / theobrama chocolate lounge / daorea korean bbq
Brought the parental units for some almost-instant Cina food at Fong Lye's. Miss YinYin first took me there early in the year. I kind of forgot that place existed until Dddy told me to suggest a place to eat in MidValley Gardens. Figured they couldn't really tolerate non-Chinese food and *PING* Fong Lye was the answer to our dining woes.
I had the seafood steamboat set. Damn taii man.. You get seafood + soup + fried veg/chicken dish + side dishes + rice with minced meat.
Parentals opt for black chicken dish + soup + minced meat rice + side dishes. Also very very taiii. PLC (Peng Leng Cheng) alert!! I always order the sweet potato balls. Reminds me of Indon.
One thing 'bout human beings... at any place where there's some kinda bowl or water container (fountain, perigi, pool) confirm some ding-dong (*ahem* like myself sometimes) will throw in a coin or 2. It's like instant kachingko makers!! I am going to put a bowl of water at my room entrance and get rich!!
Watching myself savour the splendour slowly is sending my salivary glands on production overdrive. Yes, I'm very visual a person.
I'm such a messy eater and my Vuitton Speedy really paid a price for it. I dripped a good amount of cacao on the zipper amidst my gelojoh antics and now I don't know how to get the stain off. Please help!

Their meats are tender and juicy. I was never a big Korean BBQ fan but I'm a convert now.
Miss ChongChong just had to order a bottle of soju on the week I go on detox. I resisted well but pancit nonetheless. I've never had soju before.. only seen it on Korean soap operas. All I know about it is them Koreans make this throaty "khhhh" after downing a shot which makes it look scary. But how come when I drank it I don't feel the urge to go "khhh.."??

Ayo tis place is Sin City Cafe. A minute on my lips and eons on my hips. Oh the misery of momentary glee! Everyone can't take the rich, thick, overwhelming explosion on the palate but I thrive in experiences like these. Everyone else coughed and sputtered at the creamy texture but I smacked my lips in joy.

unbelievably late birthday party entries
(unbelievably late entries)
Miss TanTan called me over to one of her salsa friend’s birthday gig in Telawi Street Bistro aka TSB. Miss FongFong was the birthday girl and even though I’m not too familiar with her, I am pretty familiar with most of her guests. I am friends with almost all my friend’s friends it’s cuh-razy :D All my cutesy dresses were at the drycleaners so I had to wear an adult frock which is not my usual style. I had so much fun that night. Seriously. I even got just a lil’ bit wasted.. wahaha!!
Human sandwich take 02.
Birthday girl’s prerequisite.
Like my shoes not? MY shoes not their shoes! Aldo half off :)
Ah Raj is very intrigued by my Tarzan ‘nature’ yodel.
Mamak after-hours. Seated just beside me is my fellow C-list celebrity Ah Raj. He was one of the finalist in Cornetto’s Love Perhaps 02. I believe in our potential stardom.
I was invited to Miss TanTan’s niece’s birthday. Remember them here?? I do not turn down invitations to McDonald’s birthday parties.
Man when I was young McDonald’s birthday parties were IT. I didn’t get one of course. We were poor and while everyone else had elaborated Angel black forrests and La Manila toffee bananas, mine was a pandan sponge cake from our weekly pasar malam.
